MARIAN CHESS TEAM A won 1st Place at the SCHOOL OF THE NATIONS TOURNAMENT - JUNE 11TH 2025. June 11 was International Day of Play! Our Nursery children had great fun as they interacted with each other.
At Marian Academy play is considered one of the most transformative forces in a child’s life. It is very interesting to observe how our children explore and understand the world around them. During play they have the opportunity to articulate their hopes and dreams, learn to communicate and interact with others, express their emotions, and grow into adulthood.
The 025 ISKF-GUYANA National Independence Karate Tournament was held at Marian Academy on Saturday May 31, 2025. The following students from Marian Academy took part: Zenaide Marcus, Theodore Ganesh, Gia Mcpherson, Christopher Harrison, Nathan Browne, Emily Ibbott, Chelsea Harrison, Isabella Ganesh and Gael Mcpherson.
The Medal Winners are as follows:
Zenaide Marcus ( Grade 2-1) : Kata: Gold, Kumite: Gold
Gia Mcpherson (Grade 4-1): Kata: Bronze, Kumite: Bronze
Christopher Harrison (Grade 4-1) : Kata: Gold, Team Kata: Bronze
On Jun 1st, Marian Academy participated in the World Environmental Day Green Walk sponsored by the EPA. We congratulate everyone who worked and turned out for the Green Walk to END PLASTIC Pollution.
Four prizes were awarded to Marian Academy: 1st Best Banner, 1st Best Chant, 1st Most Uniformed, and 1st Largest Contingent. We are so proud of our teachers, students and parents who have supported us in this move to end plastic pollution!
Caring for the environment is a top priority at Marian Academy.
Marian Academy's Under-15 girls' team won their three matches this past Saturday in the Blue Water Shipping Football Competition.

Emily Ibbott, Grade 6-2, gained 3 silver medals, Gia Mc Pherson, Grade 3, gained 1 bronze and Gael Mc Pherson, Grade 8, gained 1 bronze.

Students of Marian Academy are participating in the STEAM Fair at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, April 23-25, 2025
On Saturday, March 26, 2022, eleven students from the Secondary and Primary departments, along with some parents from The Marian Academy, participated in the Coastal Cleanup, which got off the way at 6:45 am, starting from the Seawall Band stand. This event has become an annual activity for our students. The team was guided and supervised by Ms. Ladonna Kissoon as well as several parents throughout the event. The students were delighted to observe that past students were also engaged in this activity.
Marian Academy will be holding a vaccination drive for 12-17 year olds on Thurs Sept 9th, 2021 from 8:30 to 15:30.
Students must:
- be accompanied by a parent or guardian
-bring along a birth certificate or a document with proof of age
