PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE 2019

From: The Principal’s Desk

Dear Marian Academy Family,

A warm welcome back to school for 2019.

Amidst the business that comes with Christmas, I hope you had some rest and a wonderful time reuniting with family members and loved ones. Thank you for all the gifts you sent of toys, clothing toiletries and food items. Members of our Key Club and other students, as well as past students had a great time packing and being the Wise men bearing gifts.

Our School Calendar is packed with activities for this term. We will have our Track and Field Athletics early March and so students will need to begin their training from the first week of school. In addition, we will be recruiting for the Blood Donation Drive, which will be on February 09. Each unit given can save three lives. We anticipate your usual participation in saving lives

Soon the days of Reflection will begin. A Day of Reflection for all Secondary students is a regular part of our programme and therefore it is as important as all other scheduled activities. I wish to offer congratulations to the many students who will receive “Good Work” and “Good Conduct Badges”. I encourage those who did not do so well to double their efforts and continue to persevere. For your child to benefit fully from the school curriculum we offer a few reminders.

During the past term, Mrs. P. Thomas, teacher of English and Mr. Walker from Administration left us. At the end of the term Mr. Kwami Smith also left to begin his medical practice. We welcomed Miss Markel Mangra assistant Accountant in November 2018, and now we extend a warm welcome to Miss Wilson who has joined our English Department. We wish Miss Wilson a fruitful tenure.

Please see that your child:
1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
4) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
5) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
6) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to further studies

I wish you a happy and fruitful term. May God continue to bless you and your family with divine light and love that will bring much love, joy, peace and inner strength. May you walk in the light of wisdom. Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Sr. Marie Harper, OSU
Principal
